To Date: Yes or No?

For all girls out there, being asked out on a date with a guy is very exciting and fun to think about, especially if it is for the first time. Either a blind date or a date with someone whom you get acquainted with, a first date could give you jitters and mixed emotions. Well, do not worry here are some helpful advices and tips.

For teenagers make sure your parents are okay with the guy you’ll date with. If you want your parents to trust and like the guy you are dating, the best thing to do is ask them if they are comfortable with you going out with your date. Introduce your date to your parents and it is also best to tell them where you both are going and what time will you get home. This will make them worry less. Also listen to your parent’s advice, these might help and surprise you. Don’t think their too “old school” but just think that they had been into dating experiences just before they got married.

For teens and for those ladies of the right age, dating for the first time needs precautions. Make sure you know your date well; it is not a very good idea to date alone with someone you barely know. This would make you more nervous and it can also be dangerous. If you do not know your date well it’s best to have a double date, or you could have your date on public places where both of you are not alone.

Now for dating exclusives, first thing be on time. Making a guy wait during a first date is somewhat rude. This gives a bad impression to you girls; they will think that you have no interest in this date. Do not make excuses like “being late because of preparing”. There is no such thing as “fashionably late” so be prompt and on time. This will be a good start by the time when you and your date would be together.

Second, be nice. Always keep in mind to have a positive attitude. Always break the ice when your date gets silent. When you feel that everything seems to be wrong, do not complain. Complaining is very insulting, if you find anything uncomfortable you can tell him after the date that something is wrong but in a nice and calm way. The way you say it and the tone of your voice is very important here. Do not worry trust me he will surely understand, and after that he’ll try to make it up with you.

During the date, find things on what you like about him the most and tell him. You can even compliment on the clothes he’s wearing, or on how he looks and how good the date is going. But do not lie, just be natural you are not out on a date just to please, but you are there for you to get to know each other. Complimenting your date would give him feel more eased towards you and can even break the tension. Appreciation also shows that you are taking notice of him and you appreciate him.

And lastly, enjoy the date. Dating is a good chance for you to get to know each other and to enjoy each other’s company. Have fun but do not be too hyper-critical, take things as they are and don’t loose up your poise, remember your date has all eyes for you. But just keep it cool, let your guard down a little bit, and do not pretend. Give your date a chance to see the real you. He may or may not like you, but honesty would always do you good. After all, if he doesn’t like you for being you, why should you both keep on dating?

To all Filipinos out there..I heard a new song composed by the ever talented comedian Michael V. also known as "Bitoy" from GMA Network. From the title itself one can say that it's a very touching and melodramatic song. You would expect that it would touch the hearts of the listeners, and bring the into emoting (well partly it does). But what i find interesting about this song is the lyrics.. i can 't really help myself from laughing when i heard the chorus..

The song goes like this..

The EMO thing

This morning a friend shared to me a video URL from youtube. Suprisingly,i find it quite comical. The video was a tutorial on how to dress the "emo" way. The tutorial was demonstrated by a caucasian guy, and in a way he seems to be very fashionable. I was puzzled on how the guy behaves, is he a gay or not? So, is emo a Gay thing? No offense to those who claims to be "emo" but i find myself bewildered by this thought.

Emo, short for emotional. Therefore, emo is a state of mind. In today's generation most of the "emo" people are teenagers. You can recognize them by their looks and hair. They usually have shaggy hairdos, dyed with dark colors most probably black. They also have uniquely cut bangs that covers half of their faces. Clothingwise they wear undersized clothes like fitting shirts and skinny jeans. Most of them would have facial peircings and make-up. The make-up i am talking about is the black eyeliner that compliments thier eyes. Hooked up with dark rimmed glasses, and together with bags cluttered with patches either a side bag or pack bag. They go for footwears like chucks and vans. Girl or boy emo almost always share the same fashion. So most likely they have the same taste and appearance.

Most of today's emo are laughed about. The society does not understand thier ways and unexplainable behavior. When you have to take a look at them they look lifeless and do not care on what is happening around them. Their faces are full of emotions, mostly sad, in pain, and the suicidal type look. I was even astonished to know that some emo boys kiss each other. Yes that is so true, i read this from emo-corner.com "Emo boys kissing is when two or more emo boys explore with each other by kissing. They usually do it to see the girls go crazy..They just do it because they can, and they know girls think it's hot! " LOL. Oh well, that is their own point of view.

Well my friend whether emo or not..we have all the rights to express ourselves. We have given the free will to choose on what we want and what we think for us is right. As part of the democratic society, we are bound to respect each others points of view. Express yourself well! =)

Afternoon Showers

Sun is out. The skies are gloomy, dark and gray. I could hear the uproar of the hidden thunders. Grumbling and roaring endlessly. I just have a feeling that it would rain hard. Very hard. The facade of the skies really says it so..it looks sad, unhappy, bereaved and bitter. The skies would cry any minute now..the surroundings outside are in its lowest spirits. People hastening to their destinations, why? nobody would want to be soaked in the rain isn't it right?..

And so the rain fell..pouring and falling heavily. As i stare at the window i saw the rain cascading into the dry surface of the ground. The trees are with arms wide open welcoming the raindrops, they are drenched with gladness. Birds are rejoicing, flying in mid-air and back again into the canopy of trees, soaking themselves for a free shower. The droughty grounds are quenched from their longing of water. The heavy rainfall brings cool air that calms me from the afternoons heat. Very refreshing. I never thought what beauty there lies from the unlikeable weather by almost the majority. I really appreciate it.

Not all things are ought to be bad..it's just a matter of how you enjoy it. Enjoy your rainy days! =)

Astigmatism

I never could imagine myself having an eye defect like this so called astigmatism.. at the age of 22 i already wear glasses for the sake of treating my eyes. Wearing glasses has never been part of my wish list or even take it as a fashion. Seeing myself in the mirror wearing one has never been cool for me, i look older than my age and much mature.

Thanks to my Ophthalmologist Dr. Bonita, i was really convinced to wear a pair of glasses, i just want my eyes to be well again. Before my eyes had been checked i suffer from constant headaches, eye strains, slightly blurred visions , and most of the time i feel nauseous.

What exactly is Astigmatism?

According to an article from wisegeek.com, Astigmatism is a condition of the human eye which causes either blurred vision or a sense that each eye is seeing objects slightly differently. Astigmatism is not a vision problem, but a structural problem with the eye. The human eye is usually shaped in a sphere, like a ball, but with astigmatism, the cornea of the eye is curved instead into an oval shape, more like a football. When the eye is not curved properly, or has uneven curves like a football, light will not travel in and out of the eye normally. Astigmatism causes light to bounce unevenly off the flat and steep curves of the oval shaped eye, thus allowing light to more than one point in the eye. This impairs focusing ability, causing blurred vision.

Glasses or contact lenses can be prescribed to treat astigmatism, but they generally do not correct the condition. Often, two different lenses will help the eyes focus together, thus offsetting the uneven focusing caused by astigmatism. Astigmatism, however, can be corrected with surgery. Lasik and astigmatic keratotomy are two commonly used surgeries for astigmatism. The object of surgery is to reshape the cornea of the eye and make it more spherical.

So my friend, take care of those good pair of eyes. If any symptoms exist then i suggest you see your eye doctor. SEE the world well!

GOD of many senses

I went to the cathedral church.. depression and frustration brought me there. Everything seems to be so wrong and out of place. A friend once told me that you will find peace and solace in the Blessed Sacrament also known as the prayer room..so i made my way there.

To my surprise the sacred room was half crowded! geeezzz..i blinked and made a closer look into the transparent thick glass that wrapped the whole room. It was really half crowded..every corner of the room was occupied by people who are on their knees. hmmm…shall i go inside? or shall i go home then??

Without even thinking, my feet took me inside the blessed room. it was like a magnet had pulled me. Yes, i was inside. I felt so awkward! i dont seem to belong in this place. it has been years that i have’nt visited this place. i felt a chill on my spine..and my hands went cold! Oh my! am i gonna be burned here???! Spare me Lord! uhmmm… not to mention i have been bad these past few years. i am not even a “Godly” being, or even “God-Like” as what Christians really do. I welcome sin every now and then..Very Sinful! seee?? very bad. oh well, i have faith but i tell you it is very unstable. i do believe in God but just up to that. “i believe in God”..i know there is something missing. i crave for something i just do not know. until now, i vaguely know answers.

BURN!..the word that my mind kept on telling me..my heart beat so fast. i was catching breath as if a verdict would hit me and put me to death. I took a very deep breath, then after moments of standing in the entrance i found my way to a little corner in the room as if it was reserved for me., i was unconsciously brought there..it was like someone had ushered me to go there.

I was so silent. People come and go. i was still silent. i had moments of silence! Then, i felt emotional..i am not the like but i just felt like crying. i had mixed emotions. i felt joy! i felt peace. My mouth started to open in murmur..then i was stunned! a question striked me..”How do i pray?”. Flabergasted! i dont know how to start talking with God. it was so stupid of me, words wont come out. its a dilemna.

I looked around the room. Everyone seems to be talking with HIM. Their eyes were closed, lips are murmuring, and hands are raised in the air. Some are on thier knees praying the rosary. Others are squattting as if they were making a chat with an old friend. Everybody feels to be so at home.

Gulp! then i start to ask myself..Does God hear all these?!.. the prayers, chats, praises, problems, frustrations etc and etcetera. All these people are talking to one persona. How does He handle these?? What about those people outside this room, are they heard?. I was told that GOD is everywhere, he heals, makes miracles, protects the weak, save lives..all these with just one GOD? oh yes, i have second thoughts about this..you know this goes in my mind everytime, and to be honest i’m sick of this it makes me quite unfaithful.*sigh*

Partly i’m amazed! i really am. i closed my eyes , and i started talking to myself. it was a long moment as if i had a conversation with someone. then, i had a realization.

God is powerful, nothing is impossible for Him. He made all these things for our good. Because of His great Love for us, He is always there for us no matter how hard or easy life is. He will never leave us. He Loves us!.

A tear fell on my cheek, He is GOd. Father,creator, saviour, friend, teacher, all these names are titled for HIM..and so, i have a name for HIM. He is the God of many senses..why?? its because:

He sees everything we do either good or bad.
He heals through his hands and touches our hearts with his great love.
He smells the fragrance of our souls may it be foul or not, he accepts us.
He hears and listen to everything we say to Him. May it be prayers, praises, problems, or frustrations.

Then..i was burned. I was burned with love and joy. All those times that i thought nobody cared for me, all those times that i felt unloved. He was there. He never left me. He is my God. I will always try to reach for Him even with all my imperfections. I trust God that he would help me out into this darkness.

“How long must i bear pain in my soul,and have sorrow in my heart all the day? but i have trusted in thy steadfast love; My heart shall rejoice in thy salvation”

L.O.V.E

Almost everybody talks about love. We all wanted to be loved and be in love.

i just wanted to post this, for when i saw this movie i was so touched by the description of love. It is awesome, i feel like it’s the best description of LOVE. =)
